The race for the America’s Cup continues as the New Zealand team race their arms off, and we sit and watch them. The wait goes on!!!
Since last Thursday we have been at match point:
Thursday 19th September. Many people were eager to watch the race and were disappointed at the sight that met their eyes. Oracle had won the first race. So they were even more eager than before to see the second race. Unfortunately the second race was postponed because of high wind. “Hopefully tomorrow New Zealand will win and the second race will not be postponed”, my sister said.
Friday 20th September. No different to yesterday. Oracle won. Second one postponed. Very unlucky kiwis as we still only have to win one more. Even more unlucky for Renwick school, as everyone was in the hall ready to watch the second race. How annoying that wind is!
Saturday 21st September. The kiwis are on a roll. They are beating Oracle. Bang! The time is out. Forty minutes is over and both boats are in mid-track. New Zealand was in the lead but no team wins as they hadn’t crossed the finish line. How unlucky!
Sunday 22nd September. Sadly both races were cancelled because of the weather. We all have to wait another day to see if NZ can win their final race and bring the America’s Cup home.
HOW MANY MORE DAYS?
Hope you are all ready for a party if New Zealand win the Cup.
